He'll be gone till November...

So today he's leavin'. Rudy is gone to Afgahnistan again. And we pray this is his last. When I heard that he was leaving today, my emotions really took over. Joey says don't worry about Root, he knows what he's doin'. I know he does, he's tough! He got into some scary situations the years he was over seas and he is the right man in charge. But that still doesn't make me not be scared and worried sick! Having a baby really changes your perspective on things. And now Rudy has a precious baby girl named Kamryn on the way and she should be here in June and a precious wife trying to go to school and cope with her husband leaving and carrying their child. I never want to know how she feels or anyone that has to go thru this. (and Jess, I pray for you and your family everday having to go thru this again!) It breaks my heart! But I'm so proud of him and everything he has accomplished over his years in the military and proud to know that I have him protecting my family and me.

I guess some of you might not know who Rudy is and I can give you a little background info on him. Haha. He is actually Sean Michael McDowell, but we call him Rudy. He is my husband's best friend and brother. They have been friends for years and years and years. I met Rudy years ago at JSU. He is the reason Joey moved to J'ville to go to school. We didn't always get along, but he is the reason that I am married to my wonderful husband(and two other folks helped push that issue as well)haha. And I am so thankful for that. He is my brother now and I love him so much. I love his wife and I love his little bun in Brooke's oven too! :) Joey and I could not and would not get married till he came home from Iraq(his second deployment) in November of 2007. He is a wonderful brother and friend. We love him so much.

He has been gone since October doing all of his training he has to do and is suppose to be home in November. He is also we believe going to be allowed to come home for the birth of Kamryn Grace. We will be there with bells on when they call! :) I have been praying and will continue praying for our precious Rudy and his family and I am asking you all to pray for him and his family as well. I hope this time will fly by for them and he will be home soon playing with his new baby girl.

We love you Rudy!! We pray that God will watch over you while you are in the desert protecting and watching over us!! We are proud to call you our brother and friend!!

  1. Such a sweet post Torie.
I will keep your friend, his wife, and their baby to be in my prayers. I KNOW how incredibly difficult this will be for them. Praying for safety, protection, and peace. Praying for comfort for his family and friends during this time of seperation.

    love you!
